Effective Time Management. It’s what we all strive for. Getting it all done, on time, stress-free… It’s a worthy goal. We’ve taken workshops and read books. We’ve googled, studied and tried implementing new tools. We’ve even learned to say NO (sometimes), and made an effort to prioritize. And yet after all that we still run late, have to play catch-up, become overscheduled, and feel burnt out. Basically, we’re still in a struggle with time.
The problem is that we are going about it all wrong. “Time Management” is actually an oxymoron.
You can’t “manage” time. Time is fixed, finite and really doesn’t negotiate well at all.
In order to truly become masterful with time you must learn to:
- Manage your mind… by becoming aware of how you think about time;
- Manage your actions… by intentionally choosing how you spend your time
- Manage your results… by following through on your choices with integrity
It’s a subtle but powerful paradigm shift that ends the struggle, and puts you in a relationship with time that is smart, empowering and effortless.
